The lone par five on the back begins a stretch that Pete Dye called "the best consecutive four holes I've ever designed." Under the right conditions, this hole can be reached in two by long hitters. After a solid tee shot, the player has to decide whether to: 1) lay up short of the creek 140 yards from the green; 2) lay up across the creek in the fairway and avoid deep bunkers; or 3) go for the green. The green is severely undulated so the dreaded 3-putt is always a possibility.
